I need any advice i can get, pleasee..?

I met this guy when i was 4, i've honestly liked him ever since but i dont think he liked me back then. but now recently i've noticed that hes been flirting with me a lot, like last tuesday he called me and after a couple hours he asked me if i wanted to pull an all nighter with him, so we stayed up on the phone all night and i was sad about something, so he would always say something funny to get my mind off of it.. He constantly calls me beautiful/y/pretty and says i have a hot voice. Anyways i was going to tell my best friend i like him but right when i was about to tell her she told me she likes him. What do you guys think i should do? I've been trying really hard to forget about him cause i dont wanna hurt my bestfriend but its just.. Impossible, any advice?? Thanks.
