I like this girl eventhought we had problems in the past, what should I do?

I have been friend with this girl for a few years. We used to hang out and made out sometimes, we ended up making out all the time. At first she was just a game or an adventure, nothing serious, she was beautiful but I always thought she was not the kind of girl I would be interested for something serious. After a while of getting to know her better and spending quality time with her I started to have feelings for her. She had helped me with a lot of stuff too and we started going out on dates, we have traveled together, we went to diner many times, we got along really well, I am the kind of nice guy that always have a detail for lady, so I used to bring her flowers before a nice date and she liked that. We never got to be together, eventhough I already liked her a lot after knowing her. She shared with me her dreams and ambitions in life, her desire to study and I always encouraged her to do so, I always tried to help her in everything, the reason why I decided I wouldnt be with her, was because she had a boyfriend who they used to break but they were back all the time, once when they were not together she said that was a permanent break up, so she said she wanted to move to another state so she could start studying and I offered to move with her and help her there, she was very excited and we even started to make plans for that new place, suddenly she started talking to an ex bf who lived in that place and she said she wanted to be with him, I didnt oppose and said ok whatever makes you happy, later she abandoned that idea and stayed here, by that time we continued dating and she asked me if I have feelings for her because she said that I was very supportive and I was always there when she needed something and treating her like a queen, but I knew she didnt have her ideas clear and told her that I care much about her but that I didnt have feelings towards her (I lied). Then we continued as friends and we decided to move in together to a new house, we had separate rooms but we spent time together a lot, she was back with her first boyfriend who she always break with, he always treated her like crap and never respected her in any way, he even ttried to kiil her once. Once I was very drunk and she approached to me in my room and started talking me very sweet and asked me If I had feelings for her. I was drunk and didnt lie, I said yes that I loved her. Days ped and no problems, then i remembered and told her that she shouldnt ask me that when i m drunk. Everything was apparently good, we continued having a great time, she broke with that guy again. One day we went to have fun and we both got drunk, she has an addiction to smoke weed, i dont smoke and always tried to keep her away from drugs including weed and cocaine she sometimes does. That day we got drunk, she got wasted and started yelling at people, I standed for her and apologized so she wont be in trouble, then we were leaving back home and she punched me several times, I didnt do anything, I just made sure she went home safe, she went to some of her friends who live nearby and I left so no more problems would happen, my face was very bad and my friends told me to call the cops I didnt cos didnt want to put ehr in trouble. After an hour i went back home and saw her walking in the street crying I pulled over and offered a ride, she apologized and we went home together, everything was fine and inside she started throwing things in her room and said she was going to hurt herself, I entered to avoid she hurts herelf, I had to use some force to hold her from her arms and shoulder until she calmed down, during that incident she felt cos was drunk and when helping her to stand up she hit her eye, after that she apologized to me and everything was fine, i said to her i wasnt mad. Next day she went to the doctor to see her eye, also she had a limp from skiing but doctor thought someone beated her up and they called the police, they arrested me thinking i hurted he, i never did, I always tretaed her like a queee, her friends and family hates me now. I spent few days in jail until I got charges dismissed, I didnt hate her at all, I tried to talk to her again, only worked throu emails, she later got a problem with the law for other thing, I offered my support and we started talking again. During this time after our incident, she went back with her ex boyfriend who attacked her and tried to beat her *** when she was living with me, I told her I will always care about her cos she is special for me, I still want to help her out of the drugs and encourage her to study, during this 2 months she lived w her psycho ex bf she got pregnant, when she told him he left her and got ballistic. We are seeing more often now and I still care about her, I dont wanna see her suffering, I m willing to offer her my support and ask her that I want to be with her and help her in everything she may need cos I lvoe her. Is this a good idea or what do u think is the best to do?
