How to begin jogging?

I just started power walking again after 3 years of not doing it.I've been power walking now for 1 month for 1 hour. I want to start jogging. So i decided to jog for 1-2 min and walk i do this 3 times finish the rest of my work out with power walk . I'm trying to build up my endurance so i can do a full 20 min-30min jog in 2-3 weeks. I am wondering if this is a good way to do it? do u have better tips advice ?Any suggestions i would appreciate it. Im doing this cause i want to be in shape again and i would like to lose my weight so far its working .
